What is the Blaine Central Alano?

At its most basic, it’s a building off of Hwy 65, but it is far more than that. For many, it is a safe place, and a second home where people meet up and spend time together, and find and share solutions to living a happy life without drugs and alcohol.

It is the Blaine Central Alano’s mission to help alcoholics & addicts, by providing a place for them, and by being:

  • A source of information about the diseases of alcoholism & addiction

  • A meeting place for recovery groups to have meetings on a regular basis

  • A facility to provide recovery, social & recreational activities for the recovering alcoholic or addict & their families, in a clean and sober environment

  • A contact point for individuals seeking assistance in the recovery process

It’s a place where you can find great people, support, and answers.

What happens at the Blaine Alano?

What is recovery? Great question!

It’s a little different for everyone, but basically, it’s about being able to live life without the compulsion of drinking or using drugs taking over and ruining things over and over again.

Instead, recovery is about finding happiness in life, being able to move past things that have caused you pain, anxiety, confusion, frustration, and anger. Most people in recovery find a sense of both pride and peace in getting their lives back together.

A critical part of recovery is fun! Being able to actually enjoy yourself, create meaningful friendships, get support when you’re struggling, laugh at each other, and simply - be happy. Many of us forgot what happiness was like.

But, by coming to meetings and events at the Alano, actively working our 12 Step Programs, and surrounding ourselves with others who have been through similar situations and have worked past them, we find solutions and insight that lead us towards the comfort, peace and confidence that was missing in our lives.

Come check us out! We have meetings every day of the week, several times a day. See you soon!
